  15. The Maynard 16-bit host adapter was designed to work only with tapes,
  16. although it does work properly with most other peripherals such as
  17. disk drives.
  18.  
  19. Due to hardware limitations, however, Maynard does not work with
  20. devices that transfer an odd number of bytes, such as scanners. This
  21. is a hardware limitation and there is no workaround.
